An annual service check extends the lifetime of your fog
cannon
Your fog cannon may only be serviced by your alarm
installation contractor. We recommend a service check once a year
and encourage our dealers to conclude a service agreement with
you.
A service check consists primarily of an inspection of
the condition of the signals, batteries and fog fluid. The alarm
installation contractor also checks that the nozzle is not blocked
and that there are no signs of vandalism or sabotage.
Activation of the fog cannon
We also recommend that our dealers test-fire the fog cannon as
the final step of the service check. The alarm installation
contractor often does not carry out a full activation during a
service check, so you should not be concerned about the fluid
consumption or about airing out afterwards.
If your building also has a fire alarm system (ABA) installed, it
may be a good idea to test fire the fog for, e.g., one minute in
order to properly test the interaction of the fire alarm system and
the fog cannon.
